The Association of Chief Audit Executives of Banks in Nigeria (ACAEBIN) is a sub-committee of the Bankers’ Committee of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and a not-for-profit organization established primarily to foster corporation among Chief Audit Executives (CAEs) of banks, promote competence, ethical standards and professional behavior among member organizations.
The Association’s existence date back to over two decades ago but was incorporated in June 2015 with the Corporate Affairs Commission and has its office at No 1398B, Tiamiyu Savage Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. It was formerly known as Committee of Chief Inspectors of Banks in Nigeria (CCIBN) and later transformed to Committee of Chief Internal Auditors of Banks in Nigeria (CCIABN) and now ACAEBIN.
The Association is made up of 33 members which cuts across Deposit Money Banks and Development Banks, including the Central Bank of Nigeria and also three Honourary members (NDIC, FITC and NIBSS). In order to effectively and efficiently co-ordinate its activities and achieve her corporate objective, the Association has four standing Sub-Committees namely; Interbank Arbitration, Payment & Systems, Emerging Issues and Research and Publication.
EMERGINGING ISSUES & TECHNOLOGY
This Sub-Committee is responsible for ensuring continuous professional development of members and Audit Executives of banks through training, workshops and seminars. It equally provides information and education on technological developments in the banking industry. Members of this Sub-Committee include;

Is responsible for ensuring adherence to ethics and professional practice. They investigate complaints, seek-out facts, report and make recommendations to the Executive Committee [EXCO] on matters of illegal or unethical practices among members. The Committee engages in deliberations and by unanimous vote of the Committee members or members present at a meeting, recommend appropriate action on dispute to EXCO. Following the approval of the recommendation(s) of the Committee, the EXCO then presents the decision(s) to members at the Association's General Meeting for information and ratification before such decision(s) are communicated to the parties concerned in writing for implementation.
